The guest service and room service were lovely, and the food was worth it. I especially liked the jollof rice. I enjoyed my stay at the Mace Hotel, with its beautiful, cozy rooms, and I’d come back next time I’m in Abuja.

The room setup felt cramped, and the beds were like lying on rocks. The furry bedding left fluff all over me. Food took more than an hour to arrive, and two plates of chicken and noodles with some water cost an outrageous 12,800. The phone number listed doesn’t even exist. If you expect to be comfortable here, you’ll be disappointed.

The staff were okay, and honestly the only good thing about the place. We booked the most expensive room, but they kept switching off the AC from outside to save power, and it was low on gas anyway, so it barely worked. The room smelled like someone had smoked weed in it, and the food was wildly expensive. I paid 10k for two plates of small Indomie, each with one egg and one little piece of chicken. It was a terrible experience, not a hotel I’d recommend.

The location and cleanliness were good, and the power stayed on without interruption. The receptionist was cool and service was fine, though it wasn’t five-star service. It’s probably a decent spot to stay and unwind when you’re in Abuja, around the Kubwa Axis.
