Tokyo Apartments

Our first night at Tokyo Apartment in Abuja was awful. We’d booked and paid for four nights in advance, but the power kept cutting out, the apartment was unbearably hot, and the water pressure was so poor we couldn’t take a proper bath. We barely slept. We complained several times, including around midnight, and nothing was done. When we decided to leave and asked for a refund after that first night, management refused, saying the owner “hates to make refunds.” It was especially frustrating to see that all the other apartments had power when we went out to complain again. Ours alone was dark. The owner had been in the neighbouring apartment, came out, saw how distressed we were, and acted as if he didn’t know what was happening. He offered no help. The next morning he ignored our calls and still wouldn’t refund us. The on-site manager was the one person who tried to help. She genuinely listened and offered to move us to another apartment after the current occupants checked out later that day. Her effort and empathy convinced us to stay and give it another chance. Things improved after the move, but that first night had already left a mark. Towels aren’t provided unless you ask, and we had to complain before the Wi-Fi worked. The remaining days were okay, but poor management and the lack of accountability left us with a bad impression. If you haven’t stayed there before, I’d suggest trying one night first instead of paying for the whole stay upfront.
