I was there for one night in November 2025 for a friend's wedding, and it was a nice stay.
I wouldn't recommend staying here. I paid over 100k for one night, then sat without power for more than two hours and got no explanation until the manager said they were out of diesel. That excuse made no sense, and I've never seen this level of hotel incompetence, even at much cheaper places. The rooms are large, but the fittings are ancient, and some staff talk back to guests. Nobody deserves service like that, even for free. The money would be better given to charity.
The calm surroundings are a big part of why Mega Hilton is one of my favorite places to stay in Calabar. The service was impeccable, and it made for a memorable stay.
The rooms were very neat, and the staff were respectful and did a great job. My one hesitation is the lack of breakfast. Even smaller hotels and some motels offer it free. If complimentary breakfast isn't something you need, I'd recommend this place.
After a long drive from Abuja to Ikon and then Calabar, I chose Mega Hilton hotel luxury in Calabar. As a brand consultant for Jumia Nigeria, I noticed the welcoming staff, all smiles, and the well-lit rooms. The location and building also gave it more of a five-star feel than other hotels in Calabar. It's a relaxing place for a break or vacation, and I'd love to visit again. Thanks.
