Dannic Hotels Enugu

The facilities are great and I had a good time here. The lift wasn’t working, though, so I got some exercise, which is good for the heart.

It’s affordable and the service is good. The hotel is in a popular part of Enugu City, about a four-minute drive from the airport.

The staff were unfriendly from the moment we checked in. Reception, restaurant staff and cleaners all came across as rude and snappy. Our rooms were on the third floor, but we were told firmly that the elevator wasn’t operating, so every time we left the room we had to climb at least six flights of stairs. Mr Tony was friendly and offered to get the lift working so we could move our media equipment up and down. For everyone else, it was stairs only. I didn’t expect elevator access to feel like a perk we had to beg for. This is one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in Nigeria, and I absolutely don’t recommend it.

The staff were friendly and helpful. There are two kinds of rooms: the older ones are spacious and clean, though the TVs and other appliances are dated. The newer rooms are small, but modern, attractive, and clean. They’re often full, so check availability with reception if you’re walking in.
