Filbon Hotel & Gardens

I paid ₦6000 for the room, but there was no TV remote, so I had to get up and press the buttons on the TV each time. The room smelled dusty and the bed sank when I sat down. There was no hot water in any of the rooms, and the staff were harsh, rude, and cantankerous. When I asked for a refund so I could find another hotel, the receptionist refused, saying he couldn’t return the money because I’d paid by POS. I asked him to contact whoever was in charge, but he raised his voice and said I was making him stand around over “ordinary ₦6000,” then walked out. I didn’t stay in the room, and they never refunded me. The worst hotel I’ve been to in all of Enugu.

For 6,000 a night, I expected more. The AC seemed to work only when the power was on. Avoid room 007 for now, while 005 was just okay. The rooms were really clean and the staff very friendly, though. If you’re on a low budget and need to stay on chime avenue (New Haven), it may be worth checking out.

I used one of the halls and enjoyed the privacy. The parking was enough at the time, but only held a few cars, so it wouldn’t work for a bigger event. The place is okay.

The receptionist wasn’t very friendly, the water heater didn’t work, and we were told the AC would go off at midnight. The security guy and barman both went to sleep early. While we were there, a customer was banging on the gate as the gate man slept. Management needs to improve and upgrade.
