Nike Lake Resort

You can take a boat out on the lake or go quad biking, and the setting works well for picnics and group get-togethers. It’s a great spot for outdoor sightseeing. They also serve Sunday buffets, though they’re pricey.

I stayed in a deluxe room, which was 75k at the time. It had the feel of luxury and everything I wanted, and I had a very good time. The only thing that wasn’t up to scratch was the elevator, which wasn’t working.

I ordered the chicken and it was amazing, and the pool area looks lovely. The hotel is quite big, but it’s an old structure and could do a lot better. It was surprisingly empty, and I suspect the location may be part of the reason. Some interesting activities could bring more people in. I think Nike lake has five-star potential.

The view over the lake is awesome, and the front office staff were fantastic. My room was good, and I could watch the Champions League and get the match I wanted, which isn’t always a given at hotels. Coming back after more than 30 years, when I’d visited with my dad, who’s dead now, felt nostalgic. Landmark Group has taken over and is gradually bringing the place back to life. You can see what it’ll be once it’s all done, but they’re not there yet. The restaurant looked the same as it did 30 years ago, but service wasn’t great and the food was passable. There’s still work to do. It was a pleasant stay, and I’ll definitely go back in a few months.
