KD Hotel and Apartment

The setting is quiet and peaceful, and KD hotel & apartment feels like a home away from home. The rooms are clean and the bedding is always fresh. Staff are warm and well-mannered, and the food is both good and affordable. Prices at the hotel are very affordable, too. It’s on the street opposite Dominos pizza in Akobo, and they take guest security seriously. This is where I stay whenever I'm in Ibadan.

From the entrance onward, the staff were respectful and well-mannered, and showed they knew the basics of good customer service. I had a great overall experience and was glad I stayed.

I shortened my planned week to two days because of the service problems. The rooms and bathroom were clean and tidy, and the area seemed safe with good security. Power was steady apart from frequent changeovers, but getting the room cleaned took a long time. Even at 3pm, I couldn't enter the room I had paid for. The kitchen service was below par: despite my specific reminder, the kitchen girl gave my mum food without water. Staff were generally nice and courteous. The TV was mediocre, so I used my own Prime TV (Amazon) login, while Netflix wouldn't load at all. The Wi-Fi wouldn't come up because there was no booster. The road for about 50 meters leading to the hotel is untarred.

The hotel's structure and ambience make it good value for money, and I'd still come back. The rooms are nicely furnished, but my room wasn't properly cleaned when I checked in on a Friday during a peak period. I had to ask the cleaners to come clean it and change the sheets. The towel was clean but damp, and I was told that was because it was rainy season. There were only two TV channels to choose from, and the water heater only gave cold water at first. I waited another 35 minutes for that to be fixed. Staff stayed polite and apologized each time. My low rating is a call for management to keep standards up so guests can check into a room that's ready.
