E - Phoenix Hotel Annex 2

They should improve safety around the rooms. There were too many uneven or misplaced steps, a dangerous gap between the stairs and elevator wall, electrical sockets close to the shower, and bathroom glass doors that looked like they could cause an accident. Working water heaters should be standard, the bathrooms could be designed better, and the food would benefit from a proper menu. The location is a real plus, with Flower Garden and lively places nearby. The reception area has a fantastic atmosphere, and the staff are warm and friendly.

I fell because the bathroom floor was slippery. The food portions are too small for how expensive they are.

The place was very clean and welcoming. Staff were polite and quick to help.

I had a business meeting in the country and booked room 536. This was the most disappointing hotel experience I’ve had anywhere in the country, and after an hour I was already looking for somewhere else, even though I’d paid for the night. The food was the last straw. I ordered Ogbono, goat meat pepper soup, but it was like oily colored water and I couldn’t eat it. In the room, the white bedsheets had turned yellow. The AC wasn’t cooling and leaked, so after I told reception they put a towel on the floor underneath it. By morning the room was flooded, and even the center rug was soaked. The fridge didn’t work, and almost everything I’d brought was at risk of spoiling. The bathroom also looked dirty and unclean. I’m in business, and it pains me to see this level of investment managed so poorly. It’s really disheartening.
