We had booked as a group, but the stay was awful. The rooms felt cramped, as if the space had been squeezed down to fit everything in. When we arrived around 1 a.m., exhausted after travelling to Kano, the bathroom had no light and management only then decided to call an electrician. Some of my colleagues had no running water either. They had to fetch water from outside early the next morning. That was completely disrespectful. There were no towels, breakfast, wardrobe hangers, or even dustbins. The staff were extremely rude as well.

Things have improved at Sarina. The rooms are quieter now, so you can sleep without being disturbed, and the electricity is steady. I stayed in room 201 for ten days, and it was much darker than other rooms.

For some reason, they refuse to give rooms to women, saying “women are problematic.” The rooms are in very poor condition. I was only in reception for five minutes, and I heard far more about every customer checking in than I should have.

I picked this place for its location, which works well for what I'm doing. The room is neat and cozy, with a good bed, decent furniture, a heater, and good lighting. I even asked room service to stay away until after two days. The intercom doesn't work, though, and they need to do something about the flies and mosquitoes. The restaurant looks nice, but most of the menu wasn't available. They should offer a menu with items they can actually serve.

The outside looks nice, but the room was a letdown. There were mosquitoes everywhere, the toilet was dirty and smelled bad, and the furniture was old. The carpeted room had a damp smell too, and there wasn't a mirror. At ₦20,000 a night, they could have done better. Maybe the more expensive rooms are nicer, but I wouldn't suggest staying here unless you're coming for the pool or gym. The photos shown here don't quite match what you get.
