Tahir Guest Palace

Breakfast was the one part I enjoyed, with plenty of options. The rest of my three-day stay at Tahir Guest Palace was deeply underwhelming. The place looks fancy from outside, but inside the rooms felt bare and poorly equipped despite being excessively large. There was no toilet paper when I arrived. I called, followed up several times, and it never came. The bed was lumpy, and the tap water was piping hot with no way to regulate it. I asked the hotel for help with that too, but nothing was resolved. The layout is confusing and disjointed to navigate. A lot of effort seems to have gone into the façade, but comfort, attention to detail, and basic service fell short.

Getting around from the location was convenient, and the staff were polite and helpful throughout. I had a comfortable visit at Tahir Guest Palace. My room was clean, spacious, and well maintained, and service was quick. Definitely worth recommending.

The WiFi was weak, so I relied on my own data the whole time. The hotel was crowded, with constant car horns and people walking and shouting in the corridors until 1AM. My shower was old and broken, water leaked somewhere onto the floor without drainage, and I couldn't get a proper shower after arriving from the airport. The AC remote didn't work, so I had to sleep at 17°c and wake up during the night to switch it off. My door sensor also didn't work properly, and I had to ask security for help each time I entered my room. I've visited 11 states in Nigeria, and this has been my most unpleasant experience. I'm only managing because I'm here for 2 nights, and I can't wait to leave tomorrow as early as possible. I'll check out well before the time to avoid more unpleasant incidents.

The staff were professional and polite, and everything ran smoothly during my stay. Tahir Guest Palace in Kano was calm and comfortable, with clean rooms, so the visit felt pleasant and stress-free. I'd recommend it to anyone coming to Kano.
