Lamia Inn

Right in the heart of Victoria Island, Lamia Inn is well located and fairly priced for the area. Service is friendly, the hotel is neat, and the rooms are comfortable. The building has a quaint feel, and there’s a pool with deep and shallow sections for young swimmers. Parking fits only a few cars, and the hotel isn’t wheelchair accessible. It’s a decent place to stay.

The room was cozy and surprisingly roomy for a standard room, and the staff I met were genuinely courteous. I got a good discount as a walk-in, even though the cheapest room was 25k. The croaker fish pepper soup was delicious, though a little expensive. I’d stay here again.

Lamia Inn has an outdoor pool, free wireless internet, and rooms in Classic, Queen Room, and King Room categories. Rooms have air conditioning, cable TV, a study area, mini bar, wall art, wardrobe, and an en-suite bathroom. Some look out over the pool. There’s complimentary breakfast each day. Guests can swim, order Continental or African food at the on-site restaurant, or have drinks and light snacks in the lounge from the well-stocked bar. Parking is available, with security staff guarding guests and their belongings.

The location is prime, and service remains efficient, with courteous, responsive staff. But Lamia Inn’s standards have really slipped. The hotel needs maintenance if it wants to stay top-class.
