Peaceland Hotel LTD

I liked the staff and the service, from customer care to the kitchen attendants. The building looks nice from outside, and a little bit inside too. But management really needs to renovate the whole place, especially the roof during this rainy season.

I stayed last night, and it was a bad choice. The surroundings were poor, there was no water, and the AC was bad. They changed my room a couple of times because of their dubious transactions. They'd also said the generator would run for 24 hours, then switched it off at 5:30am. Stay clear.

I was only stopping over nearby, and by the time I got there it was too late to find somewhere else. Still, it would've been better to lie on bare tiles at the nearest place of worship than spend almost 20,000 naira for this. I barely slept and felt unsafe the whole time. The room looked ancient and neglected, like the set of an 1859 movie. Floors were dirty and dusty, walls were peeling, the AC didn't work, and the bathroom had no running water. The towel was so harsh I couldn't use it, so I used my handkerchief instead. The bath doors were broken, naked wires hung out in places, and the windows had no burglar proof bars. There was no working intercom, and phone reception was barely available, so I felt cut off from the world. Staff were rude and either ignored small requests like asking for a TV remote or responded with total indifference. They didn't turn on the generator, so when the power went off, I was left in the dark. This place is hazardous and offers no worthwhile service. Please don't make the same mistake I did, it needs to be shut down.

The rooms were full of mosquitoes, the sheets were dirty, and the towels were torn. Some of the showers barely worked, and the restaurant food was expensive. It's fairly cheap compared with other nearby hotels, but its 3.5-star rating is way too high. I'd give it just one star. This is only my experience, but they need to improve.
