Pearlwort Hotel and Suites

I had a very positive experience using their event hall for a corporate function. The staff were professional and attentive, and made sure everything ran smoothly. They’re a great team and a true example of hospitality and excellent service. The large pillar in the middle of the hall was the only downside, since it slightly affected the layout. Otherwise, I was very impressed with the service and delivery. I’d definitely recommend them.

The rooms were comfortable and the water pressure was good, but the lobby smelled unpleasant. The service has declined a lot since I stayed here 3 years ago, and the current price doesn’t match what you get. I spent less than 5 hours a day at the property, yet the experience was still disappointing. Check-in took far too long, and some staff were rude, particularly Michael from the kitchen and a front desk employee. Communication and professionalism were poor. The kitchen is advertised as open 24 hours, but it doesn’t operate that way. Most menu items weren’t available, and what food I could get was subpar. I ordered before midnight and, after 40 minutes, was told they were “just starting.” The food still hadn’t arrived by 2am, so I went to bed hungry. I can’t recommend the hotel until it makes significant improvements.

The staff were respectful, helpful, and willing to find solutions. The water pressure was good too, and there was always hot water. But I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless absolutely necessary. I’d stayed a few years ago and expected the hotel to maintain a decent standard, but I had to change rooms twice because of the poor conditions. The rooms were stuffy and mouldy, with visible mould on the headboard, stained bedsheets, torn towels, roaches even in the kettle, and mosquitoes. The phone and remotes were extremely dirty, and the cleaning was not thorough. It was a very unpleasant experience, and there’s a lot of room for improvement.

The restaurant needs better management. They brought us unsealed Eva water, and my sister got sick after we left the hotel. Apart from that, it’s a nice hotel with excellent service.
