I’d seen bad reviews online but decided to try The Atrium lagos anyway. I booked from 15 January to 17 January and asked at reception whether I’d regret it because of those reviews. They said I wouldn’t. Then I got to the room and found dirty bedsheets and pillowcases. Everything looked tacky. They moved me to another room, but after I showered, the bathroom flooded. And the food is ridiculously expensive. How can a plate of Jollof rice and beef cost 14,000?
The sheets were dirty even though I’d booked months ahead and followed up a few weeks before check-in. After we woke up to a flooded bathroom, nothing was done about it before we left for our event around noon. The staff don’t care, and the customer service is completely terrible. This was the most horrible place to stay. I’d never recommend it to anyone. Please avoid this hotel, especially if you’re a bride.
The only downside was the limited parking, but it wasn’t really an issue. I enjoyed the Valentine’s package for couples, and the food was awesome. The staff were friendly and cordial, the rooms were beautiful, and the service and ambience were wonderful. I enjoyed my stay to the fullest.
The food tasted good and came in decent portions, and I liked the decor and the location felt secure. I stayed eight nights, though a ground-floor room was hard to sleep in. Staff noise in the morning, especially doors being slammed while cleaning started, woke me easily. It felt unprofessional. I also got different, incomplete answers from staff about airport transfers, longer-stay discounts, and breakfast. The menu looked extensive, but when I called, only a few options were available, mostly rice and swallow. That may have just been during my stay. It's a decent hotel with positives, but anyone with a more refined palate may not enjoy the food much. I'm not sure I'd return.
The setting is beautiful and peaceful, but I wouldn't choose it for an event. We were there for a wedding, and staff repeatedly told us where we couldn't take pictures. They shouted at us rudely, and the only spot they allowed had very poor lighting. People take pictures at weddings, so this was frustrating. Food took between 30 minutes and an hour to arrive. Staff were generally rude and got agitated instead of discussing issues calmly. They could use customer relations training. There wasn't a full-length mirror either, so you couldn't properly check how you looked. It's fine for a stay, but I don't recommend it for events.
