The room wasn’t ready when I arrived for my confirmed reservation at 2 a.m., and I was exhausted from traveling. I’d waited about five minutes before realizing the receptionist was asleep under the counter. They didn’t get up to greet me. A porter eventually came, but that first impression felt like complete neglect. Things went downhill from there. There were no towels and some room amenities were missing. Several staff members were rude and defensive. When I called the restaurant, the phone manner was poor, and when I politely asked for someone’s name, they asked if there was a problem instead of responding courteously. The room service visit was especially distressing. The male staff member was visibly and olfactorily unclean, with very unkempt, improperly shaved facial hair, and wore slippers instead of proper footwear. That felt like a serious hygiene issue and a failure of basic hospitality standards. It seemed to me that the staff need proper training in guest service, communication, and hotel procedures. Their attitude gave the impression that tips mattered more than caring for guests. The service and standards failed at every level, so I’d rate my experience with the staff 1 out of 10. Parkland Hotel Limited needs to take staff training and supervision seriously, and enforce strict hygiene and grooming rules. Guests should be treated respectfully and have a clean, safe environment. That wasn’t my experience. I hope this leads to immediate, meaningful improvements.

I honestly wonder whether these reviews reach the right desk. I’m writing because I’m sincerely disappointed by how the front desk staff deal with customers, both on the phone and face to face. The unprofessional approach and poor telephone etiquette have been ongoing. I have evidence and can provide it if requested.

@Queen Obinna, thank you very much for this wonderful review. But I think the public should come to the hotel and see your unscrupulous behavior. You tried to enter a guest room, claiming it was your boyfriend’s. Courtesy requires stopping at reception for a proper checkup when entering a hotel, but you went straight to the room without stopping. The porter had to rush over to stop you from proceeding. You then caused a disturbance and made a nuisance of yourself until your boyfriend came down and apologized to the hotel. The public should disregard anything from this particular lady. We’d be glad to share the CCTV footage. @Queen Obbina, I guess you understand that posting someone’s picture and defaming a company’s name to prove a point also comes with a task. Keep in view.

That complimentary breakfast is one of the main reasons I keep coming back whenever I’m in Ajao estate. I stay here each time I visit, and the rooms are nice and lovely. I’ve recommended the hotel to many people, and they’ve all enjoyed the breakfast variety. Keep it up and don’t change it, it’s one of the things that sets you apart from other hotels nearby.

It’s a nice place to unwind and have a conversation with the people you invite.
