Pectoria Guesthouse

The location was poor for me. The security staff wouldn't open the gate and said it wasn't open until 6am.

The staff made the biggest impression on me. Everyone was cheerful, kind, and helpful, without any attitude or bias. The security man and the man on duty were especially kind. Kudos to the manager too. I loved the ambience, and the staff were the best part of the stay. I've stayed at many hotels on this trip to Nigeria, including in Ikoyi, Ilorin, and Ibadan, and this is the one I liked most. The rooms aren't perfect, but I'd gladly stay here again and again. Amber residence at Ikoyi would come second for helpful staff, and they were great too. The plumbing was a real win for me. There were no leaking or soaked walls, which matters because I hate hotels with wet walls. The inverter powered the kettle, so I could boil water and watch TV. The area's power supply isn't bad, so the AC can run during the day when there's electricity. The food could use more variety, but given the price and location, I was happy enough with it. I also liked the inverter and the fact it could power the kettle.

It's comfortable, and a nice choice if you're looking for some peace and quiet.

The setting is peaceful, the floors are neatly tiled, and the water runs well. The room is spacious, with air conditioning, an intercom, a table and chair, plus a rechargeable standing fan on standby. It has state of the art facilities. My main issue was the limited parking. For the location, it also feels expensive: a self-contained single room costs about N8, 300 per night.
