There were lots of mosquitoes when I last visited, so the hotel should consider fumigating. They also need to improve the service, hire friendlier staff, and pay them well so they’re committed to the job.

Really nice surroundings, good place.

The main downside of my six nights here was the noise late at night and early in the morning. Some guests act like they’re in a marketplace and don’t respect others’ right to enjoy a quiet room. Management should make sure guests aren’t disturbing one another. It was my first stay. The rooms are spacious and the bathroom was good compared with some other hotels I’ve been to in Owerri. The staff were cheerful and the food was nice. I may stay here again.

I won’t be returning. My stay wasn’t enjoyable, and the food was a big part of that: the presentation was poor, the taste was worse, and the prices were outrageous. Chicken pepper soup was 4500 a plate, and the Afang soup was 4500 for a small, tasteless portion. The service and rooms at Macyview were both zero, and there weren’t enough cleaners. Madam Lilian, though elderly, did a better job. Chinaza at reception had a smile when we visited, so she gets a plus, but the others were unacceptable. It feels like hotels put photos and videos of their best, most expensive rooms on social media and Google Maps, while leaving the other rooms neglected. Not everyone can afford a 50k-per-night room to be comfortable. Hospitality should include customer satisfaction, leisure, and comfort, yet it seems Owerri hotels aren’t interested in those things.

The bathroom finish could be better, but it didn’t spoil the stay. The hotel has good restaurant and bar choices, with a range of food and drinks, and the rooms are nice. Staff were friendly, and the setting was calm and quiet. It isn’t too expensive if you’re good at negotiating. I’d recommend staying here.
