I got the rest I needed in a lovely, homely room, and the hotel is well managed. The meals were tasty, though a bit pricey. A few things could be better: the shower pressure was low, possibly because of the shower head, and the hot water ran out too quickly. The complimentary breakfast had only six choices. It was meant to run until 10:30am, but most of the food was gone by 9am and staff didn't seem to be replenishing it. Some staff, from the front desk to the people taking room service calls, also came across as unenthusiastic.

I won't be coming back. I had to keep asking for my room to be cleaned, and when I asked for help with the microwave, the staff member walked out and slammed the door when I couldn't give him cash and asked him to get a POS machine. At night, they took my food order, then called to say there was no food because the kitchen worker didn't want to cook. I had to call the manager before I could get anything to eat. The staff were rude and disrespectful to me as a woman, and seemed respectful only to men.

The breakfast “buffet” was really just a few dishes, with very little variety. Still, I enjoyed the seafood okra dinner tremendously. The rooms are lovely, the bathrooms are clean, the amenities are comfortable, and the staff are good. It's a serene location with beautiful artworks.

It's family friendly, and would also suit a short business trip. We spent three nights here as a family and found the staff friendly and welcoming, with a nice ambience. If you're on a budget, though, this isn't the place to go.

The friendly staff and service are great, and by Port Harcourt standards the ambience is good. The breakfast buffet runs out early, though. I had to wait about another hour for a refill before I could eat.
