Osborn La-Palm Royal Resort

The poolside inside the building is lovely. The atmosphere is amazing, and it could easily be one of the biggest hotels in Port Harcourt, maybe even the biggest. I’d definitely recommend it to friends and family.

The facility looks even more beautiful in person than it does online. As soon as I came through the slide doors, the personalized service was clear. The Guest Relations Officers were warm and welcoming, and the potter was sharp, sharing just enough information to help me enjoy my stay. Beautiful place. You should try them. 👍

My parents didn’t have the anniversary getaway we’d hoped for. Even after paying for the executive suite, they got slow service and had to wait for responses to complaints and requests. We’d booked a couples massage, but they got one on one instead. I’d specifically asked for a masseur for my dad, yet a woman gave the massage. They also said water spilled onto the floor while they bathed because there was a hole in the wall. It’s overpriced and the service was poor. I wouldn’t recommend it.

I’m still waiting for the refund I was promised for the unused part of a stay from over a year ago. After checking this hotel’s reviews, I thought it was decent and paid for a stay of about a week. I had to leave early for a work/duty call, so I asked for the unused time back. I completed the paperwork and gave them my account number several times. They kept saying it was the wrong number. No refund ever came. I called and sent WhatsApp messages many times, usually with no answer; when they did respond, they told me to wait a couple of weeks. My secretary tried reaching them too, but got excuses and run around. Almost a year later, when I was back in PH, I stopped by and asked to apply the missing refund to a new stay. They refused and said I had to wait for the manager who could authorize it, so I paid for another room. It was awfully run down, very unclean, and foul smells came through the vents and bathroom. The front desk said they couldn’t move me and would send someone to spray it. The staff member used a very strong perfume, but it didn’t cover the bad odor coming throughout the room. We felt like we were being gassed. Annoyed, I left for city base hotel. It was cheaper, cleaner, newer, more organized, and the staff were much more accommodating. When I returned for my luggage, they tried to persuade me to stay. I explained I’d already paid at city base hotel and didn’t want trouble getting my refund, so I left. After my first stay at Osborn back in 2024, I’d thought it was a decent resort. I even convinced a friend from the US to hold their wedding reception and activities there, and told them this, including the manager, who verified it. A few days later, I stopped at Osborn and spoke with a manager/supervisor named Emmanuel. He gave me his number and promised the refund would arrive soon, but I still haven’t received anything from Osborn Hotel and Resort. At this point I guess I’ll take my losses and let life run its course with whoever took my hard-earned money.
