Randolph Hotel & Resort

Love the greenery, and it’s a great environment with a nice sit-out.

My husband checked out today after three nights at Randolph in the Deluxe Executive Suit. The facilities are impressive and the setting is beautiful, but the service experience was disappointing. We had several problems in the room. The living-room TV didn’t work, though the bedroom one did. There was also no way to contact reception or the restaurant from inside, so he had to walk over in person for every request or question. For a hotel at this level, that’s not acceptable. The booking receptionist, Sarah, was extremely rude and mannerless on the phone. Her tone was unprofessional, like a tout, which was upsetting and disappointing. Staff like that hurt the image of what could be a top-class hotel. Randolph has great potential and excellent facilities, but the communication and customer service need urgent improvement. Staff training and attention to guest comfort are essential to meet the expectations of such high-end offerings. I may visit when I’m in the country, and I hope to see serious changes by then. Thank you.

I haven’t seen the rooms, since on the few times I’ve been here I’ve only spent time around the premises. The natural setting is nice, with live trees, greenery, and lovely raffia huts. It’s a good place to spend an evening over beers, roasted fish, and suya.

It’s a nice place, though a little more expensive than some nearby options. The weekday pool was quite eventful, but the garden bar surprised me by being beautiful and not very bubbly. My shower was leaking, probably from lots of people handling it. Maybe wall-mounted showers would work better.
