The hall was roomy and had eye-catching touches, including the aquarium, and the place felt cosy and clean. I was there for the Tiandy seminar on 27 February 26, and things went normally. They serve their own food in the restaurant, with parking and security available. The public toilets were especially tidy. Prices are on the high side, but I liked the place.

The atmosphere is lovely, but the management needs serious work. My room had no working sockets or freezer, and there was no maintenance person, porter, or housekeeping staff. The pool was filthy and the customer service was poor. I won't return unless things improve.

I paid #2,500 and didn't enjoy myself because the pool and the area around it were dirty and neglected. For such an impressive-looking hotel, you'd expect the pool to be clean. The photo they show is old, so don't be fooled.

The pool needs attention because it really isn't clean. Still, they deserve some credit for the rest.

Echelon had a lovely atmosphere, and the food was up to standard. I spotted mosquitoes and other insects in my room, though, and some parts of the building need repairs. It seems like an older hotel, so regular upkeep would help. Apart from those issues, I had a fairly good stay.
