The bed was hard as wood, and the white lights made the room feel like a fridge. It was dirty, old fashioned and not cosy. The pool wasn't usable, and they even charge for coffee with breakfast. There are better places for the same price.

The building looks nice and the staff were welcoming and ready to go the extra mile, but there's very little parking. Calling it budget friendly is a stretch. Outside it looks new, inside it feels old. I tried several rooms and couldn't find one I was happy with: the roof, wall, toilet or AC needed attention in each. Staff tried to reassure me, but I wasn't convinced. For that price I expected proper comfort day and night. I came with my swimming pants, hoping to use the rooftop pool, but couldn't bring myself to swim without a room that satisfied me. Management should improve the infrastructure in every room.

It's in a great spot with roads that are easy to access, but the bedsheet had been used by someone else and wasn't changed.

The location is fairly nice, which is a plus, and the hotel still gets the job done as an average place to stay. But after a few stays, I can tell Gold Rush Hotel isn't what it was when it opened. The rooms used to be modern and really nice; now they're worn and badly need renovation. Hopefully they'll revamp them and bring back some of the old feel.

For a budget friendly hotel, the service is good and the staff are friendly. There's a portable elevator, but the kitchen wasn't delivering as it should and the meals weren't great. Still, it's not a bad deal.
