I noticed pest problems in both rooms I stayed in. I had to kill mosquitoes, a cockroach, and a wall gecko. The security sticker on my cupboard wasn't very reassuring, though none of my things went missing. The staff are good people, but I wish they'd smile more. Only one person I spoke with looked happy, and you know what I mean about staff showing how long they've been at work on their faces. The hotel must have been wonderful in its prime, and I'm glad they're renovating the rooms. They need careful renewal and a proper clean, especially in the bathrooms, and the doors should be replaced. The cooling systems need cleaning too, as the filters are dirty. In each of the two suites I stayed in, at least one of the two cooling units had a problem. One had no filters and still wasn't cooling at 16°.

I came to meet friends from my Umunze alumni group, the class of 90's, and ended up staying here. I had a nice visit. The AC cooled well, the bed was good, and they're renovating the building to update its design and structure. They should switch to brighter towels, duvet covers, and bedsheets.

Our company put us up here for two weeks in 2021 before we moved on to SWISS INTERNATIONAL HOTEL PH. I gave 5 stars in every review because five is the highest option, but you deserve more. Room service, meals, clean rooms, professional staff, and security were all great. I can't list everything. Keep up the good work.

We asked for a kettle, cups for tea, and towels to be brought to us, but our requests were ignored. When we complained, the receptionists and manager were rude. The rooms also had a stale, unpleasant smell, and the towels were worn out. A bad experience all around.

It felt like home away from home, with steady electricity and a backup generator. The place is affordable but still feels royal and exquisite, with top-notch service. It's in a lovely, peaceful, secure setting and is one of the best hotels in Port Harcourt.
