Ughelli Wetland Hotel

The hotel is easy to reach from the expressway, with no rough-road hassle or extra transport needed if you’re arriving by public transport. A filling station sits by the entrance, and the entrance and exit are staffed around the clock. There’s a solid perimeter fence, steady power, plenty of meeting and event halls laid out with guests’ comfort in mind, plus a well-equipped gym and a good pool. The spacious grounds feel welcoming, though they don’t have shade trees yet. Getting around is straightforward by Keke, which feels safer on the expressway than a bike. There are no taxis in Ughelli. E J. Eateries and Pizza House are about 0.9 km away on the expressway, around 159 naira by Keke. The main market is about 1.5 kilometres away: from Wetland, take the Ahwinawhin road and get off at Ahwinawhin junction for 150 naira, then it’s 200 naira from there to the market by Keke or bike. Otovwodo market, ShopFair shopping, and the Ovie palace are about 3 kilometres from Wetland, or 300 Naira by Keke. Kay Place and SOAD night clubs are also along the expressway, not far away. Lily Clinic, the biggest and most prestigious, is on the road to Otovwodo market, a few meters before the Ovie palace road junction. The Central hospital, courts, police station, and Secretariat are about 1 kilometre from the main market.

The population rate is good, and the other things for fun are good too.

It’s spacious and peaceful, unless your room is near the pool. Then the bar noise is a complete nuisance in the room, from morning until late at night.

I had a good stay here and would recommend it to others. The hotel is high standard, with top-notch services and infrastructure, and the rooms were properly equipped. The lift works, which adds to guests’ comfort, and the gym, pool, and other facilities were all running well.
