Finding El Mariz can take care, since the street numbering around there is confusing: it’s on Akpan Essien Lane 'A', number 26 (new), 24 (old), off Ikot Ekpene road. Once there, the close-knit lodging, restaurant, and bar have a residential feel. It’s in a siren environment in Akpan Essien, Uyo, and they’ll customize what you want. The staff have an almost domestic housekeeping style and are on hand for guests. Food is made to order, like waiting at home for something fresh from the kitchen. The Akwa-Ibom dishes are rich, from afang soup to editang, atama, and edika ikong. I’d want to return and make it a home away from home.

The hotel is old, but my room was still cozy and comfortable, and the rates were affordable. It’s small, quiet, and tucked away, with nice, courteous staff. I’d recommend it.

Quiet place, clean rooms, and electricity around the clock. There’s a Gotv decoder in each room.

I got the comfort I wanted without going over budget, and I’m looking forward to visiting again.

A nice hotel with a clean room, tucked away on a hidden street.
