I planned to stay one night on the way to Little Corn Island, but after the girl I was traveling with got really sick, we came back so she could see a doctor on Big Corn. Irod was concerned and upgraded our room for free when I explained what was going on. She got the care and medicine she needed. Our flight to Managua was two days later. She had to return to work, but I didn't, so I kept extending my stay and ended up there for two weeks, LOL. The grounds are well kept and the rooms so clean you could eat off the floor. It's a nice part of the island. A scooter is handy for a longer stay, though cheap taxis are always passing by. There's also a great restaurant a two-minute walk away. I went to the Corn Islands expecting to like Little Corn most, but I actually preferred Big Corn. For a budget-friendly place, this was awesome.

Mr. Irod and the rest of the staff are kind and attentive. The rooms are clean, comfortable, air-conditioned, and each has a private bathroom. Prices are very good. There's a large, fully equipped kitchen with a roomy refrigerator, plus laundry facilities for an additional cost. The garden is spacious and great for children. I'd definitely like to come back and recommend the place.

The host was very kind and cordial throughout our stay, helping us with directions around the island, schedules, and whatever else we needed. The house had everything for a pleasant visit, and it's close to a grocery store, restaurants, and beaches. Well worth a visit.
