The location and value were what I liked most. It’s a good, affordable base for a couple of days in Esteli, and the staff are welcoming. The bus station is about a 10-minute walk away. My room was quite big, with basic shared facilities: a bathroom and shower in the courtyard, a couple of sofas by the entrance, and a small kitchen corner. There isn’t much shared space.
For 400 cordoba a night, I had a single room with most of the things I want: fast internet, a bedside table and lamp, a fan, mirror, free drinking water, a firm bed, and outlets by the bed. The shower pressure was a little low, but fine.
We’ve extended our stay twice, and this is probably the best hostal I’ve stayed in Nicaragua. The family are lovely and really helpful. It’s super clean and quiet, with a kitchen available, and close to bus stations, the market, shops, and pretty much everything. Such a nice place for a very good price. Highly recommended.
You can use the family’s kitchen, and they’re all very helpful. We can also definitely recommend the Somoto Canyon tour with Juan, a friend of the family. If you’re happy with a simple, clean room and appreciate a warm, guest-friendly family running the place, you’ll love staying here.
The family running the place were kind enough to let us bring our motorbikes inside at night, which helped us feel sure they were safe. The rates were very good, and our freshly painted rooms were super clean, with comfortable beds and nice new pillows.
