We tried the 30-minute reflexology massage and loved it. The pressure was just right, and the massage rooms are beautiful too!

The building is beautiful, and the pool was a nice break from the heat. You can get a day pass for $5, so I’d skip the spa and just use the pool. The staff were really nice and apologized for the awful massage. I went to Mansion de Chocolate for the spa and pool, but wouldn’t recommend the massage. I tried the “signature chocolate massage,” and it badly irritated my skin. I had to stop after a few minutes and ask them to continue without the products. Hours later, it was still very painful, with red marks like small cuts all over. The regular massage itself wasn’t good either.

Since the owner died in 2018, this place has gone downhill. The hallways and stairs weren’t lit at night and felt treacherous, and some of the wooden boards throughout felt like they might give way. The showers didn’t work, and breakfast was terrible. I used to love staying here, so I’m sad the Nica widow hasn’t kept up the property. I’ve stayed before, but I won’t return.

Some guest rooms smelled a bit musty, probably because it’s an old mansion. Opening the doors and windows can clear that nuisance. Apart from that, it’s a lovely place, perfectly located a few blocks from the main plaza and its restaurants. The historic building is beautiful. Take a moment to talk with local people or hotel staff and you may hear interesting stories and facts about the mansion. The staff were friendly and always ready to help.

It’s a beautiful, cozy colonial hotel right in Granada, within walking distance of the park and the yellow Cathedral you see in all the pictures. The decor is amazing, and there’s a good-sized pool with a small deck beside it where you can relax and enjoy the view. Rooms have AC and comfortable beds, and breakfast is amazing. The chocolate museum is part of the hotel, and you can book a tour at the lobby. It’s worth it.
