Casa de Los Berrios

This place is just two blocks from the main square, and the Berrios family were so nice and helpful. Maritza and her family keep a lovely, clean garden and a quiet, relaxing place. I wouldn’t really call it a hostel, it feels more like a hotel for people who want their own space and a calm atmosphere. The single room with a private bathroom is better than any hostel around here. Thank you, familia Berrios!

A lovely Homestay run by a local family. The rooms are spacious and nice, with a private bathroom in each one. There’s free drinking water and coffee, and we’d happily come back.

I had the worst hostel experience I’ve had in Leon. The older woman at the front desk was rude and disrespectful, didn’t care about my questions, and eventually made me leave for no reason. Don’t be fooled by the price, it isn’t worth it.

The old man was very nice, but the older woman who helped me had a bad attitude. She asked me a lot of personal questions and was rude to the girl I was staying with, telling her to move away from the light while she stood at the front desk. I felt like I was in a boot camp and won’t stay here again. I arrived on a motorcycle, and she didn’t offer to put it away. When I tried to pay with a 50 dollar bill, she had no change, so I had to dig through my bag to find some. The place was very hot, and although there was AC, it seemed to be there just for show, so I could only use the fan. I gave it 4 stars because I felt bad for her and thought maybe something was going on in her life.
