The hotel is a quiet retreat from León’s busy streets, just as described, and we had a great stay. John was a friendly host and was very welcoming to our two boxers. Our car was parked on the street, and the night guard and hotel attendant kept an eye on it. León gets hot, but the room fan kept us cool enough to sleep. The hotel is close to the spectacular León Cathedral, and there’s excellent street food behind it at the edge of the central market. Some good restaurants are also within walking distance. Breakfast was fantastic every morning.

We had some issues in the room: the bathroom didn’t have enough lighting, and the air conditioning should be included in the room rate and working. On the good side, José was welcoming and accommodating, and we had interesting conversations with him about Nicaragua. The lovely interior garden and our small private balcony overlooking the patio were highlights. Breakfast was very good, with fresh fruit from the garden. The hotel is centrally located in León near Calle Ruben Dario, so we could explore on foot. Parking is available nearby, about a five-minute walk away, for an extra fee.
