There’s loads of space to relax, in both sun and shade, and the plunge pool was great in León’s heat. The fridge was well stocked too. Breakfast costs extra, but it’s cheap and delicious. The location is great, close to plenty of bars and restaurants. My room was adequate, though a bit dated and scruffy, and could really use air con. At these prices, I wasn’t complaining. The shower was the most powerful I’ve had so far in Nicaragua. I’d stay again.

The pool is a real bonus in such a hot city, and it’s close to the center of Léon. Good quality for the price. While you’re there, make sure to have breakfast or lunch at Pan y Paz.

There’s no kitchen, so whether this is the right place depends on what you’re after. Still, we had a lovely two-night stay. It felt like a quiet oasis in the city, with a pool, shaded spots to cool off, and a pool table and table tennis. The spacious room had no air con, but the fan worked fine. Free coffee in the mornings too. I’d definitely recommend Lazybones hostel.

We used Leon as a base for nearby areas and volcano hikes, and stayed at Lazybones for five nights. It was really convenient, with 24-hour reception so we could leave early for a tour. The center is very close, with plenty of restaurants and street food vendors nearby. The staff were extremely kind and helpful. We have nothing but good things to say and highly recommend Lazybones if you’re in Leon.
