Hotel Leon Inn

All the staff have been so friendly and made me feel at home. It’s a great place to relax.

The staff were great, and the food was excellent, though portions are limited, so don’t expect a big plate. The margaritas were excellent too. It’s a gorgeous colonial style place, clean, with two floors and no elevator. The pool area is beautiful and clean. It’s safe and has parking, though the drive in might give the wrong impression. The noise comes through because insulation isn’t great, but it was okay for me. Wi-Fi is poor and they’re still working on it. I guess once good technicians come in and solve that problem, they’ll be five-star.

The staff are the only reason I can give this place five stars. I’ve stayed here twice in four months, and the same problems were there both times. The shower had no hot water and a broken shower head in each room I tried. Wi-Fi kept cutting out, and the fastest speed I got was 1 Mbps, lol. The TVs seem to be there just so the hotel can say it has them, since the internet makes them useless and I couldn’t watch anything. Breakfast is included, but the serving is like a meal for a five-year-old. There are better places in the city for the same price.

The pool and hammocks were a nice extra, and there’s a cozy little courtyard in the middle. The hotel looks good, the room was comfortable and had A/C, and the staff were friendly. It was so quiet that we seemed to be the only guests in the whole building, so the atmosphere felt a little dead. Downtown León is a 15-20 minute walk away. A good fit if you’re fine with the walk, have a rental car, or want somewhere peaceful.
