Camino Real Managua

My family and I have been staying here for years and have always had great service without any problems. This time I booked a full body massage with Ingrid, and it ended up being my favorite part of the trip. I wish I'd tried one before. She was incredible, and it was unlike any massage I've had. I definitely recommend it.

The bathroom was updated, very nice, and clean, and the beds were comfortable. I didn't spend enough time with the staff to judge the service. For a one night stay near the airport it's okay, but by current standards this is an outdated five star hotel. The breakfast buffet and airport shuttle were shamefully overpriced. Mosquito control was a disaster. I've stayed all over Central America, jungles included, and never seen so many. It seemed like there was an infestation on the property: we killed probably around 30 in the room after check-in, and there were swarms outside our door. The room itself didn't smell particularly freshly cleaned.

The hotel is clean, with nice rooms, and it works well for a stay near the airport. But I left my phone charger in room 118 on December 21st and expected it back by December 30th. When I asked the receptionist, she said nothing had been found. It's only a charger, but I can't help wondering what might happen with other belongings. They should have a lost and found, and the housekeeping supervisor should check rooms for forgotten items before cleaning and report anything found to her supervisor. They need more honest, trustworthy staff. This reflects badly on the hotel.

The shuttle was just some random guy who charged me $10 for a two minute drive. That's insane, especially since he was 20 minutes late and I had to fend off a million other cab drivers who would've done it for $2. I don't understand how this place charges those rates compared with the competition. I was so thirsty and they didn't even have water to offer or sell, and no snacks either. How does a five star hotel have no water? Breakfast wasn't included and cost around $20. The rooms were small and had mosquitoes.
