Hotel Brial Plaza

The pool was a highlight, and the neighborhood felt safe, with plenty of places to shop and eat. There’s even an ampm convenience store open 24 hours within walking distance. The food was excellent and the staff were great, even though I don’t speak Spanish. I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel and its location. As an American traveling abroad, I’ve learned to leave my expectations behind. I’d go for a suite, since they’re cleaner and more modern. Everything worked, from the air conditioning and lights to the toilets, and there’s a personal closet.

I visited the pool on a Saturday afternoon. It’s open to everyone, and the pool and surrounding area were clean. There’s a big covered space for eating in the shade or letting kids play. The food was good, the drinks were cold, and the restrooms and changing area were clean. Plenty of parking too. They also host birthday parties and similar events.

We rented four rooms for a week, and the place looked much nicer in the pictures. The whole property is dated, and the service was awful, just as other reviews said. Staff seemed hateful, and we had to ask over and over for basic things like another towel or help figuring out which knob gave us hot water. Don Cesar was the only person who was pleasant and seemed normal. Some rooms had weak air conditioning and were very dark. At least they keep up the gardens, but we left highly disappointed.

We went in the afternoon and it wasn’t crowded, which made for a nice visit. The prices were reasonable, and the pool was lovely. The food was what I liked best: good dishes and cool drinks. The staff also gave great service. I’d definitely recommend it.
