Hotel Casa Colonial Boutique

This may have been the best value for money of any hotel I’ve stayed in. It has a lovely character, with great shared spaces both inside and out. The staff were helpful and arranged an early taxi to the airport for us.

The hotel itself was okay, and the staff seemed friendly at first. But they charged me twice for the room, with the second charge showing up after we’d already left. That could happen, but two months later I’m still waiting for the refund. They ignore my WhatsApp messages and calls. I wouldn’t book here if you’re concerned about being charged twice and then not getting your money back.

The breakfast was really good, and the team members were super helpful. The rooms were another story. My brother-in-law took a shower and couldn’t open the door knob from inside. The beds are comfortable, but the sheets were filthy. The mattresses had no covers, and the pillows didn’t either, so both had a body odor. We also found a dead roach in the bed.

The locked gate had security around the clock, and the place had a quiet, lush, jungle-like colonial feel. After a horrible Airbnb stay at Edificio Norte, I was glad everything here worked as advertised. The staff were always helpful and accommodating.
