Pachamama - Hotel - Hostel

I’m almost sorry to have found this place, since it’ll probably fill up and get busier. The rooms are attractive and artistically interesting, unlike a typical hostel, and reception is friendly and does what it can to help. There’s a bar with tables, and a pool that’s small but enough for guests in private rooms. Breakfast at the cafe next door is included, with a typical Nica breakfast or fruit with yogurt and granola, plus coffee or orange juice. The coffee is made cup by cup on an espresso machine and is excellent. Carlos, the chef, makes very good food and prepares a different lunch special each day alongside the regular menu. So far I’ve had excellent Churrasco steak and a lovely Pollo a La Romana topped with green olives, onion, and bell pepper relish. Cold beers, water, and juice are for sale in the reception fridge. You can also get your room cleaned daily, and they do plenty to make your stay comfortable. It’s in the heart of Managua, and less than a block or two from about 10 bars in a safe area you can walk around. I’ll definitely stay here again.

The staff were really helpful and friendly, and my clean room had a very comfortable mattress. One thing that would help at night is a sign and some outdoor lighting, since it’s hard to spot the place when you arrive.

Room 6 is right beside the Cafe Trece kitchen, and we could hear the staff moving things around from 6:40am until 9:15pm. The cafe is open 7am-9pm. Even so, we had a great stay and would come back. Pachamamma is in a great location and felt luxurious compared with most places we’d stayed in Nicaragua over the past month. The bed and pillows were wonderful, and the shower had hot water and strong pressure, both things we’d missed elsewhere. Breakfast at Cafe Trece was very good, and the Wi-Fi was better than average for Nicaragua. We could watch Netflix in our room most nights.

The room was nice and had AC, but the hot water ran out after about 30 seconds. Breakfast was included for only two of the three of us who booked, which seemed odd since the room slept four.
