The courtyard and quiet feel made this a peaceful, private spot in the city. I stayed two nights before flying home. Omar helped me with information, arranging a taxi, and tips for getting around on foot. The room was clean, comfortable, and practical. I also arrived around lunch and had a tasty, inexpensive plate of local food.

Clean rooms at a good price, with simple, perfectly good accommodations. The money you spend also supports an organization doing valuable socioeconomic work.

The courtyard won me over right away: lots of plants and cozy places to sit and talk. From the street, the hostel hadn't looked very inviting, but that first impression didn't hold up. The receptionist was warm and helpful, and pointed us toward a few places to eat. The reception room was full of art, and our private room had plenty of wood and artwork too. We only heard the story behind the place after arriving. It's a memorial to Benjamin Linder and is part of the Benjamin Linder Foundation. He was an engineer who worked to bring electricity to Nicaragua's northern war zones during the revolution, after the USA attacked villages in the dark. You can still spot murals from 1988 around the property, which feels steeped in history. Managua isn't much to look at, but Casa Benjamin Linder really is lovely. I booked without knowing its history, and I'm glad I did. I'd recommend staying here and will definitely return. See you there.

The value here is hard to beat, especially with breakfast and dinner included. The food was amazing each time, and the casa is well placed. Becca, the owner, is a knowledgeable, passionate host. She also runs local medical brigades for low-income families in Managua and helps rural families get water. Murals about the revolutionary struggle cover the outdoor walls, and the whole place is beautiful. I honestly can't think of anything bad to say. I'd absolutely recommend staying here in Managua.

We came with a women's group, and the gardens, staff, and food were all wonderful. They also offer day trips to and from most of the tourist spots. I'd recommend this place if you're looking for somewhere to stay in Nicaragua.
