La Posada del Arcangel

Breakfast was delicious and the staff treated us well. It's a beautiful place, with a spacious, lovely room and halls decorated with amazing art and antiques. I'd definitely stay again and highly recommend it.

I only stayed two nights before moving to my long-term place, so I didn't have enough time to properly check how consistent the internet speed and connection were. It was generally good while I was there. The hotel feels like spending a night in a museum. The family has built up an extensive, eclectic collection of paintings and sculptures over more than 25 years, with so many pieces that some are even attached to the ceilings. All the artists are from Nicaragua, Guatamala, and Honduras. My room and bathroom were clean and spacious, with hot water. Some rooms have historic decor and lots of paintings from the family collection. The Nica breakfast is traditional and filling, with gallo pinto, eggs made to order, bread with cheese, fresh fruit, juice, and coffee or tea. Staff were friendly and attentive. It was easy to get an inDrive ride, like Uber but cash only, to central city sights and the Salvador Allende Malecón. I enjoyed the short visit enough to book another stay for when my 90-day visa ends, for the two nights before I fly out of the country. One thing to keep in mind for a longer visit is that breakfast is the same every morning. It's tasty, but could get repetitive.

We brought our dog along, and it was great that she could stay with us. Managua gets hot, so the air conditioning was a real bonus. The rooms and hotel were lovely, breakfast was great, and the staff treated us like family with really helpful service.

The price was very reasonable, and the breakfast was good with convenient serving times. It’s a beautiful traditional-style place filled with art, in a safe area. The staff were friendly and helpful. I’d recommend it.
