How are local guides giving this place 4 stars? You'd have to want to stay with the Adam’s Family. It's dirty and poorly maintained, and at 3 in the morning I could swear there was a family of rodents partying inside the wall. We booked and paid for two nights, but after getting no sleep the first night, we left without a refund. It wasn't worth even $10 a night.

The rooms smelled musty, and she charged an extra $5 each time I wanted to use the kitchen. The lady of the house verbally abused me, then literally kicked me out on the first day and kept the money I'd paid for the second night because I didn't get home until 1 a.m. I called the police, but they couldn't do anything. I hope nobody else has to go through this.

We paid $35 for a double room with breakfast included. It was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the terrace looks out over the main square. The manager was welcoming and gave us lots of information about Masaya when we asked. Breakfast was very good too. We did have a few water problems, though I think that's the same as everywhere else in the country. I recommend it :)

Terrible. He didn't respect checkout time. It wasn't even 8 a.m. when he knocked because he had to leave and wanted me out of the room. Very bad.
