El Guayacán

The property is gorgeous, and we'd love to return. We had a good time, though the place felt pretty empty. Food also wasn't available for much of the day, which wasn't what we'd been led to expect. I think it would be great for a wedding.

That fabulous view makes it easy to forgive a small hiccup like the wait for towels. The hotel has lovely, glorious views, very spacious rooms, friendly staff and good food.

The dogs around the hotel were all so loving, and everyone there takes care of them. We loved our room and the views, the monkeys in the trees, and the music at night. The local culture is incredible, and I can't wait to bring my whole family. From arrival through departure, it was the greatest experience. The staff, from the concierge and cooks to the housekeepers and the young men who served us, felt like personal friends and were ready to help at any hour. The food was great, and my daughter and I tried everything on the menu. We couldn't have found a better place. We're big animal lovers, and this was the best vacation ever. Months later, we're still talking about it.

The only good thing was the view. The service and food were terrible. My wife ordered fish when I went with her and our children, and it was rotten. I'll never recommend this place, and we're definitely not coming back.
