Casa Marina Condominium Hotel on the Beach

We love it here and plan to stay six months or longer. The place is wonderful and affordable, with a top-floor balcony and an incredible view. It's right downtown near everything, but you can enjoy SJDS without heading down into the crowd if you don't want to. The lobby is always staffed and secure. They clean once a week, and communication was great whenever we needed something.

•October/November• I stayed on the 5th floor for a little over two weeks, and this apartment was perfection. The patio view was incredible, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. It was the perfect temporary home for my visit to San Juan Del Sur.

The location is hard to beat, with the beach, restaurants, and bars all within walking distance. We felt at home at Casa Marina and plan to stay again on our next visit. Our room was spacious and very clean, someone was at the door 24/7, and all the other staff were incredibly nice.

The beachfront view was very nice, but that was about the only good part. For a hotel costing over $100, they could improve several things. There was no wifi on every floor, and the lobby constantly smelled of cigarettes because staff couldn't go outside to smoke. Breakfast was very poor. I asked for scrambled eggs and got fried ones. The pineapple was served with the middle part, which is too hard to eat. The Gallo pinto seemed days old, hard and crunchy, as if it had been fried over and over. I actually felt insulted after breakfast, like the cooks hated life. Even after several nights, they didn't clean our room or change the towels and linens.
