Hotel Guardabarranco

The women working here were lovely, patient with our limited Spanish, and really attentive. Breakfast was included, and we also enjoyed the pool. The place was quiet and clean, with air conditioning in the room, and only a block or two from the main streets. My Mom and I stayed two nights and had a great time. Great value, too!

Karen, Maria, Abel, and the rest of the staff made us feel so welcome. Abel was super attentive at reception, and Karen was so friendly in the kitchen. A really lovely experience, and they made it magical for my daughter. We felt at home and were so well looked after. Many thanks to everyone! 🙌🏻

We stayed from January 7 to 9, 2024, and this was the worst hotel experience I've had. After a day tour on our first day, we came back to find my fiancée's engagement ring missing. We reviewed the security footage with the receptionist and saw only the cleaning ladies enter the room. They later denied taking anything. When I spoke to the manager, he didn't want to involve the police, and we had to pay a bribe to get the ring back. Friends in another room later discovered their earrings, phone, and watch were stolen too. The police have been informed and are investigating. The hotel security guard was part of it, and the bribe was paid to him. Staff have keys to the locked safe drawers and, while you're away, will take valuables and go through your bags. The cleaning ladies also cook breakfast. Avoid staying here. A bunch of thieves!

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and breakfast was nice, a typical meal with coffee. It's a clean hotel with tidy rooms, bathrooms and showers, and air conditioning. The pool is well maintained, and the tourist center is about a five minute walk away. Thanks for a great stay.
