Casa Oro Eco Hostel

The rooms were a letdown for what they charge. There were no towels, soap, or toothpaste, and the service wasn’t good. I had to keep going down to reception for things that should have been provided. Breakfast was advertised as included with a private room, but there wasn’t even a glass of water. Coffee and juice cost extra, the portions were tiny, and the food was mediocre. Prices are extremely high for what you get, and they charge for absolutely everything. I’ve never stayed at a worse hotel in Nicaragua. For that money, a local hotel could offer much better service, food, and hospitality. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

I was visiting as an outside guest and had two fantastic breakfasts, plus some awesome coffee with plant based milk. I didn’t see inside the rooms, but the areas around them, including the hall, were absolutely beautiful.

I showed up wanting to go to playa madera at 7:30am, the time listed online and outside the hostel, but they told me the first shuttle doesn’t run until 10am. If those times on the website aren’t going to be changed, they should at least add a note telling people to check before coming that early.

The rooms were dirty and the shower was cold. I wouldn’t stay here again. The only upside is the nice shared area downstairs with a cafe, though it’s a bit pricey.
