This is a really nice, family-run local hotel and good value for money. I stayed here three times during my travels, about two and a half weeks altogether. The rooms are simple, with space for clothes and AC. Breakfast costs a little extra, but I could choose what was included. There’s no swimming pool, even though it appears in some pictures, but that didn’t bother me.

I was so glad to find such a nice place near the beach. After staying at other hotels around Nicaragua, this was easily the best for such a great price. The people were really nice, and the hotel was clean and tidy. It even had air conditioning and hot water, which was amazing for Nicaragua.

The family running Bahia Azul were really friendly and happy to help however they could. The hotel is tucked up a side street, away from the town’s busy nightlife. For $40 USD a day, we got a private room with air conditioning and hot water, a tasty breakfast every morning, and kitchen access. I’d definitely stay again. A very good hotel in San Juan del Sur.

The location is convenient and the prices are fair, though the rooms are small. Some have AC, but getting it to work can be tricky. There’s no pool here.

Our room was comfortable and colorful, with a great A/c and a big TV in room 2. When we had trouble with the door lock, the staff dealt with it straight away. Once the door wouldn’t open because the lock had stopped working, they offered us another room immediately.
