It's a quiet spot with a lovely pool, delicious food, and really friendly staff. I stayed in the 8 bedroom, and a friend was in a private room. The rooms could use some maintenance and upkeep. There isn't much to walk to from the location, so the shuttle buses into town are useful. There was no yoga on site when I visited, maybe that only happens in low season? I'd recommend staying or stopping by for a meal and a swim.

The co-working space was really nice, the food was good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I have nothing negative to say about them personally. The place looks nice, the common area is cozy, and the pool is a great addition. It has potential, but we found the stay overpriced and without atmosphere, especially given what we expected. We spent a few days at The Space Jungle over Christmas, far from home and away from our families. We deliberately paid more for a hostel we expected to be lively and social. It was the most expensive hostel we'd ever booked, out of 100+ hostels, partly because Booking and Hostelworld suggested regular activities and a social atmosphere. In reality it was almost empty when we arrived, and over three nights we met only a handful of people. There was nothing organized over Christmas, no dinner, activities, or games, just one hour of yoga in the morning. The bar closed at 9 PM, which didn't help create a festive or social vibe. It's quite far outside town. There is normally a shuttle, but it was canceled during the holidays, so we took a taxi arranged through the hostel. We were told a ride of less than 10 minutes would cost $10, but the driver charged $15. That was disappointing, especially since the hostel booked it. Our room was disappointing too. The window was tiny, so there was barely any daylight. The AC regularly leaked water, the beds were extremely uncomfortable, and I can still feel the springs. The floor was dirty and looked like it hadn't been properly cleaned in a long time. We're not complaining just to complain. We've stayed in much worse and dirtier hostels, and that's fine if the price matches. At half the price, we wouldn't have complained. At this price, it simply didn't feel worth it. It could have been so much more, but this was a disappointment and we would never return.

The jungle around SPACE is stunning, and the yoga platform adds a lot to the experience. The wooden gym and two horses nearby give the place a real sense of calm. After being in one place for a long time where the view was nice but not much else was great, I moved to SPACE and realized a view isn't everything. There's also a workspace and a small pool for cooling off after time in the sun, at Nicaragua's beaches, or on a nature hike. Rooms are very clean and well maintained. The restaurant area is thoughtfully laid out, with quiet spots and a comfortable corner for anyone wanting a peaceful place of their own.

The mattresses were the main problem for me, even in the superior suite. They pin into your back and make a good night's sleep difficult and extremely uncomfortable. We were also kept awake by loud, singing guests even though there are strict quiet rules after ten. The doors and walls are very thin. Better beds and sound isolation would improve the Space experience a lot. Space is in a beautiful jungle-like area, kind of in the middle of nowhere. The shuttle service is great and necessary for the bumpy, long ride to the San Juan center. A car, your own scooter, or a taxi is recommended for going elsewhere. Adilson is a very caring, customer-oriented host who makes sure you feel comfortable and safe, and gives you all the information you need to get around. The bar staff are kind too and make a great rum-ginger. The kitchen is great, try the peanut butter oatmeal for breakfast. There's lactose free milk for coffee. The coworking space is amazing, with airco and coffee-making facilities. The outdoor wooden gym and yoga area are beautifully made and a nice idea, but it was hot and there were so many insects that I was afraid to use it. A yoga mat is available on request.

The rooms were comfortable, with AC and hot water, and the lodge has a nice blend of EcoLodge charm and a modern boutique-hostel feel. It's only a short drive from central San Juan del Sur. Addleson at the front desk really made our trip memorable. He can help arrange all kinds of experiences, from catamaran tours to horseback riding and adventure day trips, and was clearly dedicated to making guests' stays special. I'd happily recommend staying here.
