The rooms are excellent for the price, and the restaurant is a real gem. But what stands out most is the staff. Twice, people went out of their way to make me feel welcome and comfortable. I've traveled extensively in the US and Europe, and these are some of the most helpful, down-to-earth hotel staff I've met. The young woman at reception had already started closing up, but turned back to help me get a room just five minutes before midnight. I'd been turned away by six hotels before that. I'm forever grateful, and I've told my boss this is where I want to stay when we have business in the Netherlands. I only recently learned that Aduard was home to a famous, substantial Cistercian monastery. I feel that history still shows in the people here, unlike nearby Groningen, which I find controversial. Six stars. Seven, eight... you get the idea.

The reception staff felt a bit cold, and the sheets weren't very clean. You can see the crust in the photo. My towels also weren't changed every day. It's fine if you're after a cheap hotel, but I wouldn't stay here again.

Plenty of open fields and parking, and friendly staff. Breakfast was included, too. My room was really big, with the bathroom separate from the toilet. Everything was clean and well done. Loved this relaxing stay.

The location is nice, but construction workers started outside early in the morning, making a lot of noise before checkout.

Room 5 was horrible. The bed is just a few centimeters from the wall of the washing and drying room, and whenever the machines run, the room shakes. They start at 8 in the morning and were still running close to 10 in the evening. Thankfully, Nicole at reception handled my anger really well and sorted out my complaints within minutes. She's super friendly and empathetic, and really brightened my stay. Best receptionist ever, thank you so much for the help! I'm here for two nights for work. The Best Western itself is very nice, clean and modern, with amazing staff. Breakfast is great, and the rooms are modern and mostly newly renovated. If you get room 5, ask for another room right away. And hope Nicole is at reception, she's awesome!
