Dogs are welcome, and there are lots of nice walks nearby. Deventer is a must-see, and the nearby villages and towns are worth checking out too. In Laren (Gld), don’t miss the iVintage store for great bargains. The hotel itself is decent, with very basic rooms and no luxury, but the beds are really comfortable. It’s good value for an overnight stay while exploring this beautiful part of The Netherlands, and breakfast has a great selection.

The receptionist didn’t greet us when we arrived, which felt strange, but everything after that was fine. We liked the room, and the surroundings were beautiful. Breakfast was nice too. The downside was the lack of a mosquito screen. We ended up staying up late killing mosquitoes so we could sleep.

The service was friendly and really good. The rooms feel outdated, though. The location is amazing, with nice trails starting right by the parking area.

Breakfast was a little limited, but tasty, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The spacious, clean rooms have old furniture, and the bed was soft and comfortable. There’s a wonderful atmosphere here, like something from a novel written in the late 1900s. The hotel is in an old hospital built at the beginning of the 20th century, and it makes a great base for exploring the area. It lacks some modern amenities, such as a fridge in the room.

The breakfast buffet was very good, and you can even cook your own eggs with bacon. The people were friendly, the surroundings are nice, and the old buildings have stories to them. It used to be a hospital. A hotel I’d recommend.
