The central location was the main plus for my few days here, with the station about a 10-minute walk away. The staff were pretty friendly too. My problem was the cleanliness: I found dust on several surfaces, and the mattresses weren’t clean either. There’s also a nightclub at the property on Fridays and Saturdays, so light sleepers may want to avoid it.

There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and it’s a short walk to the train station for Amsterdam Central. But I wouldn’t come back. My room was spacious, though it smelled odd, and there was mold all around the shower ceiling. One of the fresh towels had someone else’s old hair on it, and the TV didn’t work. The Friday night noise carried clearly even to the top floors until 4 a.m., despite the warning, and made sleeping difficult. Check-in also took about 15 minutes before anyone appeared.

My family and I left after just one night and moved to another hotel, but we got no refund. The place was dirty, old, and smelled of urine. Loud music from the hotel’s nightclub went on all night, so we couldn’t sleep, and the rooms gave us the impression of a brothel. Parking wasn’t possible, and it was too expensive for what it was. The online photos are misleading. Never again!

The coffee is good, but the cheesecake is especially delicious. The staff are friendly too, and I’m a regular now.
