The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast selection was better than I'd expected. The hotel itself, though, is falling apart. Little issues like the first-floor lift buttons not working and a missing digit on the room number were manageable. The state of the room wasn't. It was dirty: the tile under the bathroom door clearly hadn't been wiped in a long time, the area under the bed looked untouched for at least a few months, and the mattress topper was bobbled and VERY stained. Both my boyfriend and I ended up with rashes. Some things didn't work either. One side of the toilet seat at the back wasn't bolted down, and the bedside light wouldn't turn off on our last night, so we barely slept before an early flight. It's a 40-minute bus/tram trip to the city centre. That's not the hotel's fault, but with what we spent on transport to make up for choosing a cheaper hotel, we could have booked somewhere cleaner and closer to Amsterdam's centre. I'd strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

The room was chic and surprisingly spacious for a single, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. I stayed here for the first time and had a great experience. My room was beside the elevator, so it could get a little busy and noisy. There's no direct transit from the hotel to the center, though getting around by bus, tram, and metro is still convenient. I'd highly recommend it and would definitely stay again in the future :")

The room size was pretty reasonable for this area, and having a Nespresso machine right there was nice. But there were cleanliness problems. The bathroom had mold and smelled a bit, and the chair had stains that we didn't want to investigate, so we stayed away from it. The TV volume wouldn't go above 24 for some reason, maybe to avoid disturbing people, but even on a quiet night we couldn't hear it. It was okay, but could have been cleaner.

I only noticed the recent reviews after booking, so when I arrived I checked the room for bedbugs. There were so many that blood stains showed on the mattress when I lifted the cover slightly near the top. There were lots of eggs and shed skins too. I went straight to reception, and the person there didn't seem surprised, just offered another room. I said I didn't want to stay, but got no refund. It was one of the most nightmarish experiences imaginable. I'd strongly recommend cancelling as soon as possible, or not booking there at all.

The staff were lovely, and the rates were good for a place this close to Amsterdam. The center is a 20-minute bike ride away. Parking is secure if you pay, or you can park on the street for free after 6pm. The rooms felt a little depressing, with dark walls and ceilings, and the furniture is showing its age.
