The ARTIS Aquarium feels like a peaceful escape from the city. Light coming through the water and the historic windows gives the place a quiet, almost magical atmosphere. The tanks are beautifully kept, with marine life ranging from colorful tropical reefs to fish from Amsterdam’s canals. Set inside a striking 19th-century monumental building, it's a highlight of the zoo and more than just a display of fish, it offers an immersive look at aquatic ecosystems and conservation.

It's nice, even if it isn't one of Europe's biggest.

A nice, cool spot on a sunny, warm day!

The food is much worse than it was a few years ago, and service is bad. Prices feel excessive, yet the website still asks for donations. I went to ARTIS for the aquarium, but nowhere was I told it was closed for the whole year. They still charged the full price despite not having all the attractions available.

Like every zoo, it's too small.
